Remarks BATTLE AXE is a true classic that will get you out to fishing grounds and back fast and safe in any conditions.

She has rebuilt MerCruiser engines with 700 hours, new aluminum tanks and oversized rudders.

She is a well cared for two owner boat in turn key condition.

The present owner is retiring and would like see her go to a good home.

This is a good opportunity to buy a great boat at an excellent price.

Don’t miss out!

Accommodations BATTLE AXE’s construction is typical of Bertram.

The 28 is built with solid fiberglass, and lots of it.

Bertram was one of the pioneers in fiberglass construction, and by the time the Bertram 28 was designed, the company was well versed in the idiosyncrasies of the material, more is better!

At the heart of the Bertram 28’s battlewagon design is the 9-foot-long cockpit with plenty of room to handle lines, space for fighting chairs and getting down to the business of catching fish.

With 85 square feet of fishing space, BATTLE AXE has more room than almost any other boat in its class.

Overall, the boat is designed to appeal to the "Fisherman," and no real attempt is made at appealing to Ms.

Angler.

Laminate surfaces in the cabin, and on the aft bulkhead, are designed for easy cleanup and low maintenance.

One could describe the interior of BATTLE AXE as Spartan.

It is not.

It is a functional space.

The salon to port is split between the galley (forward) and stand-up head compartment (aft).

While it is not huge, the galley will allow preparation of most basic meals, and the crew won’t go hungry.

The head provides enough room for the business required of it.

To starboard, the dinette has seating for four -- and sleeping room for two adults, if they’re friendly.

The windows on all four sides provide plenty of light and make the cabin feel much bigger than it is.

The outside engine access is good, with large hatches above each engine, and a smaller hatch on the centerline for quick fluid checks.

Above the engine hatch, you’ll find steps to the flybridge which offers “step-over” bench seating, that allows one more person to sit on the bridge.

The helm provides superb views of the entire boat and a great place to watch the action.

Dash space offers ample room for the placement of electronics, and the engine controls are conveniently positioned for ease of operation and backing down on the catch.
