This traditional gaff rigged Cutter has a fiberglass hull that was molded and cast
from a 17ft wooden captains gig that was used in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
The sailing rig was taken from drawings of an English fishing cutter that was built in 1860
by Dan Hatcher and is still sailing today.
The mains'i is 122 sq ft The stays'l is 52 sq ft
and the jib is 47 sq ft.
The build began in Los Angeles in 2010 and ended with the launch on the Hudson River
in 2016.
Many improvements have been made since then including the installation of an
inboard Minnkota Endura Max 55 motor with 55 lbs thrust.
